PAINTINGS
SAKKI [Killing Intension] : "One day I was in room with takamatsu Sensei. He told me to close my eyes and to stay in a seated stance; I was not to open my eyes..................".
BUJIN MARISHITEN [Marishiten, Goddess of War] : "Marishiten: Buddhist Influences on Combative Behavior," Dr. ?atsumi analyzes the attraction for the Buddhist cult of Marishiten by the ancient warriors of Japan through the tightly focused lens of hoplology1 and succeeds in clearly explaining the connection between Buddhism and martial arts!.................."
SHITTENO [The four Emperors] : "Guardians of the Four Directions, Protectors of Buddhist Law, Protectors of Human Kind. Most often found standing at the corners of alters. Ferocious looking, sometimes with fiery halo behind them, often stepping on Tentoki (tiny creatures). They protect the Buddhist realm for Taishakuten (Skt. Indra, god of the center), serving as his generals to guard the territories inhabited by humans..............."
BUSHIN WA WO MOTTE TOOTOSHI TO NASU [Harmony is sacred in a martial heart] : Dr. Hatsumi Sensei always says that one must not act for "personal reasons" or "based on one's own thoughts". The Gyokko Ryu Kosshi Jutsu Densho contain a maxim, "Bushin Wa-wo motte Totoshi-to nasu" - literally, 'the martial heart holds harmony sacred'...........
ONNA MUSHA TOMOE GOZEN [Tomoe Gozen, female warrior] : "The most famous women warriors are Tomoe Gozen and Hangaku Gozen (sometimes called Itagaki). Interestingly, for both of these women the naginata was not their weapon of choice.Tomoe was especially beautiful, with white skin, long hair, and charming features. She was also a remarkably strong archer, and as a swords-woman she was a warrior worth a thousand, ready to confront a demon or a god, mounted or on foot............"
DARUMA [Bodhidharma] : "This painting of Daruma (Bodhidharma), the Indian monk who traveled from India to China in the sixth century and founded Zen Buddhism, has a traditional attribution to Unkoku Toeki on the basis of interpolated seals. The calligraphy is of greater interest than the portrait, with which it shares a highly simplified style....."
KUNOICHI [Female Ninja] : "Dr. Hatsumi Sensei says that Female ninja were classified as part of the kamae of sui (water) and were cultivate to manipulate energy through preying on increased feelings of emotional satisfaction; like the ocean, they would draw out, only to come back, like a wave at riptide, in unexpected ways. these women, or kunoichi as they were called, were given special training in psychological skills and intuition......."
I SSHIN KORE WO TSURA NUKU [One can achieve anything with a firm heart] * without expication
KYUSHO [Vital points - of the Koto Ryu school] : "The pressure points used in Kyusho-jutsu are the same points used in acupuncture. Acupuncture regards a pressure point as a gate where the flow of vital energy (chi or ki) can be manipulated. The acupuncturist uses these gates to increase or decrease the flow of energy in order to restore a healthful balance within the body. The Kyusho-jutsu fighter uses these same points to disrupt the flow of energy in order to defeat an opponent......"
MIYAMOTO MUSASHI : "The famed swordsman Miyamoto Musashi was born Shinmen Takezo in Harima Province and may have fought at Sekigahara under the Ukita as a common soldier........"

BUJIN [Warrior God] : "Long ago I was an accomplished warrior of the Koppo tradition. I was brave and as intense as a flame, even against dangerous animal........"
BUYU [Martial friendship / Warrior brother] : "....are the simplest interpretations, although the profoundness of its meaning encloses a new feeling, which is none other than an amalgamation of all the recognizable sentiments of a human being.!......"
NASU WAZA WO ONOGA CHIKARA TO HITO GA YUU. KAMI NO MICHIBIKU MI TO SHIRAZU SHITE.
